About the Practice

Mission Statement

'Striving To Provide Outstanding Patient Care'

At Castle Mead in Hinckley and Pine Close site in Stoke Golding we are aiming to become an 'Outstanding' practice.

In an increasingly complex society we place a high value on the need to respect patient confidentiality in all age groups.  Above all we try to make the surgery environment as friendly as possible without compromising overall efficiency.

We consider ourselves a modern, forward thinking and friendly training practice at the heart of the Hinckley & Bosworth Community and have a team of outstanding clinical and non clinical staff.

Whilst keeping up to date with the latest developments in IT, the investigation and management of medical problems and their treatments, we remain committed to the ideals of traditional family medicine, namely a holistic approach with continuity of care. We also continuously strive to offer our patients choice both in personnel and timing of appointments.

We regularly conduct audits to ensure we provide the best, evidence-cased care for our patients, ensuring we do so in the most cost-effective way.

Finally, we are fully committed to our staff as they are our most important resource. We are committed to the appraisal process and they also attend regular educational courses and have performance reviews.

GPs in Training

Our practice is approved to train fully qualified doctors who wish to specialise in general practice. Our GP registrars (GP Registrars are experienced doctors who have decided on a career in General Practice) will have had 2-4 years of experience as a qualified hospital doctor working in various specialities. They consult patients on their own, under the mentorship of our educational supervisors Dr Dockrell and Dr Patterson and clinical supervisors Dr Ashleigh Squires-May and Dr Ian Abraham. Occasionally we ask permission to video a consultation. You will always be asked in advance and are given the option not to take part, and this will not affect your care in any way. No recording will be taken without your consent and the camera will be switched off on request. These videos are used only for educational purposes with the doctor doing the consultation and are destroyed after use.

Medical Students

Medical students are sometimes attached to the practice for upto 12 weeks as part of their training. If you do not wish a student to be present during your consultation, please inform the receptionist.
