Please call 111 if you need emergency medical attention during this time

If you need medical help while we are closed there are many services in place to treat people who urgently need healthcare, but it isn’t a serious or life threatening emergency.

If you are unsure of the service you need, or need immediate medical advice you should call NHS 111. They can give you advice and if you need to speak directly to a health care professional then they are available on the other end of the phone, whatever the time of day or night.

Walk in services are also available at Loughborough Urgent Care Centre.

If you do need to go to the emergency department, please think about if you can manage to get there using your own transport, or a taxi. Ambulances in the area will always prioritise the most serious cases first, so if your condition is not serious or life threatening and it’s safe to do so, we would recommend seeing if you can get family or friends to help you get to the emergency department. If you’re not sure, ring NHS 111 and they will advise you.

Question: Why do the chairs in the waiting room not face the front

Answer: Because confidentiality is difficult in an open environment by facing the chairs away from the front desk we hope to discourage people from looking at conversations with reception staff and look at our notice boards. There is never an easy solution to this.

Question: Why are the appointments only released on a Friday

Answer: We have found through trial and error if we have a set day, once a week, to release appointments and release them a week at a time we have less failed attendance and we are being consistent at the same time. They are released on line and in the surgery so patients can look on our website and see the same appointments that are available

Question: Why can I not see my named GP easiliy

Answer: We have only 3 partners and 6 doctors at the surgery. A named GP is in this practice a partner and ultimately oversees the care of the patient. We have 10375 patients therefore it is impossible for those patients all to see their named GP. We therefore advise patients to build a relationship with one of the salaried GP's who will also give them excellent care and may be more accessible.
