CARERS

Dear Carer

The Carers Health and Wellbeing Service are working with the Castle Mead Medical Centre to provide a Carers Clinic for carers that are patients at the practice.

The Clinics will be held on the 4th Tuesday of the month. The clinics will be held at the Caste Mead Medical Centre.

Appointments are for 1 hour and can be booked for the morning between 9.30am-12.30pm or the afternoon between 1.30pm-4.30pm by calling the Surgery on 01455 637659 or by booking at reception.

You can also call the Health and Wellbeing team on 01858 411380 for further information.

As a carer and a patient of the practice, you will have the opportunity for a confidential, one to one appointment with your local Carers Wellbeing Advisor who can offer you a listening ear, information, support and advice about your caring role.

This Clinic offers Carers an hour of valuable one-to-one time with an advisor, which will enhance the general wellbeing and care offered by the surgery.

I look forward to seeing you soon.

With kind regards

Sue Cawrey

We’re a free, confidential service working with GP practices to support carers throughout Leicestershire.

How can we help you?

Our friendly, experienced team is here to help you in all kinds of ways and can:

  • Help you find relevant services that could support you, or help you

  sort out a specific issue.

  • Listen to your views and make sure you get the support you’re entitled to,

or improve the support you get at the moment.

  • Give you support and information on other services available to you.

  • Help you get a Carer’s Assessment.

About the service

Our aim is to help carers look after their own health and wellbeing, as we know your caring responsibilities can sometimes leave you feeling tired, overwhelmed or frustrated, which can lead to physical, mental or emotional ill-health. The service is run by VASL (vasl.org.uk) a community-based organisation with a long and very successful history of supporting carers.
